This trek crosses three relatively high passes,
good paths are followed throughout and there is no trekking on
glaciers. At the edge of the Tibetan Plateau in the Himalayan rain
shadow lies Dolpo - the legendary hidden land closed for years to
trekkers. The lack of other tourists, the warm welcome given by
the hardy Dolpo-Pa and the fascinating insight into the Tibetan
way of life makes this an extremely varied and special trek. A
unique trek in Nepal, it is ideally suited to both beginners and
those who have "been everywhere". You haven't until you've been to
Dolpo. |
Difficulties of the Trek |
Since the terrain can be hard and the days long,
hikers on these treks should be in good physical condition and
have some previous mountain walking experience. But It does not
require any technical experience. Steep climbing may be involved,
although it is never necessary to use ropes. |

Kathmandu - Nepalgunj. |
Days 2 : Flight from
Nepaljung to Juphal then trek to Dunai (2150m). |
Days 3 : Trek to Hanke
(2600m). |
Days 4 : Trek to Sumdo
(3000m). |
Days 5 : Trek to Shey
Phoksunmdo Lake (3738m). |
Days 6 : Rest day. Today
we rest to admire the beauty of this great lake. We visit nearby
villages inhabited by Bon and Buddhist Settlers. |
Days 7 : Trek to Numla
Phedi (5000m). |
Days 8 : Numla Bagala
Pass (5190m). |
Days 9 : Trek to Tokyu |
Days 10 : Trek to Do
